Fashion Design Degree & Work History

My work history involves 25 years experience in the Miami garment industry. My fashion background includes a fashion design degree, seven years as a Missy designer, illustrator of fashion catalogs, technical design, pattern making and grading, sewing, purchasing, quality control and production management. I’ve worked in most every textile ranging from spandex to ultra suede. From story boards to tech packs, I am very well rounded. I have initiated and implemented efficient work flow procedures; I have a background of overseas travel to Bangladesh and Guatemala as production manager. I have also worked as a technical designer and operations coordinator serving accounts J.C. Penney, Wal-Mart, Costco, Lane Bryant & Willow Ridge.

Textile design was always on the back burner of my imagination, but I needed the skills and courage to step forward into it. I'm now a graduate of Pattern Observer Textile Design Lab, so I understand what it takes for my files to be vector, raster, color separated and in repeat.  With access to low minimums and a sublimation facility in Pennsylvania, I found that I could showcase my textile designs on my own line of board shorts.

I’m most interested in swim wear for men. My signature look could best be described as coastal and tropical. Because of my valuable experience with border and engineered panel prints while working as a fashion designer, I’m designing within this area of expertise. I also have experience as production pattern maker and seamstress within the Miami garment industry.
